The IRS will give you money back (maybe thousands) if you qualify for Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) or the Child Tax Credit (CTC) EITC or the CTC is not considered as income and should not affect benefits like welfare (TANF), food stamps, SSI, Medicaid, CHIP, foster care, adoption assistance, or public housing. Even if you have not claimed it. You could still qualify for EITC. If you are eligible, you can claim EITC for three years back. You do not have to have children to get EITC but you do need to have children to get CTC For more info on EITC or the Child Tax Credit visit www.wveitc.com or call toll free 1-800-WVA-EITC
